Grapevine Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy outlines how we gather, use, and disclose your information when you interact with our App.
Grapevine has no affiliation with any educational institution and will not reveal your identity or anonymous posts unless we are legally compelled to do so or if law enforcement requires it.
Creating your Account
When you set up your Account, you’ll be prompted to verify both your mobile number and your university email address through codes that we send to you. These verification codes confirm that you are an authenticated, legitimate user.
Why do you need a University email?
We mandate the use of a university email address to keep our communities secure and exclusive. By verifying that each participant has a valid university email, we ensure the community is genuinely restricted to members of the corresponding institution, thus maintaining a safe space accessible solely by verified individuals.
Age Restrictions
Teenagers can use Grapevine as long as they fulfill all other eligibility requirements—most notably, that they must be actively enrolled at the relevant university. Users under 16 years of age are not permitted to access the app, even if they are registered at the university in question.
Content You Share and Create on Grapevine
We collect the text, images, and any associated metadata you produce while using the App, including posts, replies, and interactions with other members. Be aware that your posts and replies are publicly visible, which means they can be viewed, shared, or altered by other users—or even by us—for both commercial and non-commercial purposes. Although your personal details beyond what you elect to share are not shown to moderators, any information you post that could reveal your identity may allow others to determine who you are. Grapevine has no duty to keep information you disclose publicly or to other users confidential, so please be cautious when deciding whether to share personal data. We strongly suggest avoiding posting information that would enable unfamiliar individuals to locate you or that you prefer to keep private.
